Four sets of resource cards to aid implementation within the classroom and beyond. Each pack has a different focus and are a mixture of theory and pupil activities.
Pack 1 – Character Introduction – Professional Development
These cards are for use with staff to develop a shared understanding of character strengths and how to promote them across the curriculum as part of a whole school approach to developing character. A set of 28 inspirational quotes and 14 images can be found on the backs of the cards which can also be used as a stimulus for discussion on character.
Pack 2 – Character Development – Working with Others
These 50 cards include activities for pupils on team or group work and the value of working together. They provide questions about judging effectiveness, assessing personal and social skills, prompts for reflection, exploring trust and examples of effective teams. A set of photos can be found on the backs of the cards as a stimulus for discussions on trust and effective teams.
Pack 3 – Character Resilience – Lifeskills Development
These 48 cards include easy to deliver activities that promote emotional resilience. They are designed for circle time, PSHE, tutor time or small group interventions. A set of 48 character strengths can be found on the back of the cards for use with the activities.
Pack 4 – Character Building – Making the Most of Residentials
This card set has been developed to help schools make the most of residential opportunities. Designed to provide a mixture of information and a range of easy to deliver activities for use before, during and after a residential. From initial planning and identifying outcomes to impact evaluation and maximising learning back in schools, they highlight and reinforce the development of key character strengths maximising the potential character outcomes.
