Outdoor and Adventurous Experiences
Andrew Smith – Development Manager
Andrew has a degree in Sport Management and a lifelong involvement in sports.
He has worked in sport development and management within the public and private sector. His extensive work gives testament to his passion for enabling young people to experience the opportunities and benefits of sport and the outdoors whilst offering the highest level of customer service to clients and partner organisations.
He is also the main contact for the Outdoor Learning Team

Swimming
Claire Moores – School Swimming Manager
Claire is the School Swimming Manager and has also successfully taught children to swim for many years, facilitating core life skills.
With over ten years’ operational experience she is passionate about the needs and goals of the clients and specialises in supporting schools in meeting National Curriculum. Claire also manages a number of successful projects, including TOP-UP and Water Safety Week, focusing on every child having knowledge of water safety and self-rescue to actively reduce the number of drowning incidents in the UK.

Adventure Team
Marcus Broad – Adventure Team Manager
Marcus Broad is the Adventure Team Manager.
He is a windsurfing, sailing, powerboating and canoeing instructor and holds many other outdoor qualifications. Marcus has delivered adventurous activities to a range of clients for nearly 20 years both in England and various other European countries.
Marcus is passionate about getting young people into the outdoors to experience adventure and outdoor education activities.

Risk Management
David Thompson
David is a Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner with over 11 years’ experience in supporting schools with their health and safety compliance.
He has a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Safety and Health Management, which he studied at Nottingham Trent University. His philosophy is that schools should be able to manage risk sensibly in an uncomplicated manner so that they can concentrate on teaching and learning.
Sport
Nick Robb
Nick graduated from the Sports Science and Administration degree course at Nottingham Trent University in 1994.
He has been employed at Nottingham City Council for the past 22 years, working initially within Sports Development and, since 1998, within PE & School Sport. His current role involves delivering the Government’s School Games programme and working with all City Schools to develop a comprehensive PE, sport and physical activity programme for all young people in Nottingham.
Transport
Susan Sturdy
Sue is our new main contact for Why Nott? Transport.
Sue joined Nottingham City Council in December 2013 as an escort for Passenger Transport (children and adults). She had a regular run for 3 days a week and assisted with administration for the other 2 days. Sue was then successful in securing her present post organising transport for school trips, swimming and ice skating in July 2014, within Transport Commissioning at Woolsthorpe Depot. After working in partnership with Sue for a number of years, this month we are very pleased to welcome Sue into our team based at The College Street Centre. Sue is looking forward to working directly with schools on behalf of Why Nott? Transport.
